The BLS Renewal course is for healthcare providers who hold a current or recently expired AHA BLS Provider card. If your card has been expired for an extended period or you have never held a BLS certification, you will need to take the full BLS Provider course instead.
The BLS Renewal course typically takes 2 to 3 hours. It is shorter than the full BLS Provider course because it focuses on reviewing updated guidelines and reinforcing skills rather than teaching all content from the beginning.
We recommend scheduling your BLS renewal before your current card expires to avoid any gaps in your certification. AHA BLS Provider certification is valid for two years. Many employers require active certification at all times, so plan ahead and book your renewal class early.
