## CPR Certification Questions

### How long does CPR certification last?

AHA Heartsaver CPR AED certification is valid for 2 years, through the end of the Renew By month shown on the card. QKC Health recommends renewing your certification before it expires to maintain your life-saving skills and stay current with the latest guidelines.

### Do I need any prerequisites for CPR class?

No prior training or medical background is required. Heartsaver CPR courses are designed for non-healthcare providers and are open to anyone who wants to learn CPR. The class is hands-on and instructor-led, so you will practice on manikins and receive real-time feedback.

### Can you come to our workplace for CPR training?

Yes. QKC Health provides on-site CPR training throughout Connecticut, including all of Fairfield County. We bring all necessary equipment to your office or facility for groups of 3 or more. On-site training is the most convenient option for workplace compliance and team training.

### What is the difference between Heartsaver CPR and BLS?

Heartsaver CPR AED is designed for non-healthcare providers such as office workers, teachers, and parents. BLS (Basic Life Support) is designed for healthcare professionals including nurses, EMTs, and physicians. If your job does not require a BLS certification, Heartsaver CPR AED is usually the right choice for you; if your role also requires first aid or you work in childcare, you may need Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED or Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED. See our [BLS vs CPR comparison](https://qkchealth.com/resources/bls-vs-cpr/) for a side-by-side look.
