## BLS Certification Questions

### What is the difference between BLS Skills, Renewal, and Provider classes?

The BLS Skills class is a hands-on testing session for those who completed the AHA online coursework. The BLS Renewal class is a streamlined recertification course for providers with a current or recently expired BLS card. The BLS Provider class is the full certification course for first-time students or those without a current card. All three result in the same AHA BLS Provider certification valid for two years.

### How long is BLS certification valid?

AHA BLS Provider certification is valid for two years, through the end of the Renew By month shown on the card. We recommend scheduling your renewal class before your current certification expires to avoid any gaps in your credentials. QKC Health offers convenient BLS Renewal classes throughout Connecticut.

### Can you provide on-site BLS training for our healthcare facility?

Yes. QKC Health provides on-site BLS training at hospitals, dental offices, clinics, and other healthcare facilities throughout Connecticut and Fairfield County for groups of 3 or more. We bring all necessary equipment including manikins and AED trainers. Contact us to schedule a session at your location.

### Do I receive an AHA card after completing the BLS class?

Yes. Upon successful completion of any BLS course, you receive an official American Heart Association BLS Provider eCard. This digital certification is valid for two years and widely recognized by employers and licensing boards; confirm which card your employer or licensing board requires.
