## ACLS Renewal Course Questions

### Who is eligible for the ACLS Renewal course?

The ACLS Renewal course is for healthcare providers who hold a current or recently expired AHA ACLS Provider card. If your card has been expired for an extended period or you have never held an ACLS certification, you will need to take the full ACLS Provider course instead.

### How long does the ACLS Renewal course take?

The ACLS Renewal course (the AHA's ACLS Update course) takes about 9 hours, including breaks. It is shorter than the full two-day ACLS Provider course because it focuses on reviewing updated algorithms, reinforcing skills, and completing megacode testing rather than teaching all content from scratch.

### When should I renew my ACLS certification?

We recommend scheduling your ACLS renewal before your current card expires to avoid any gaps in your certification. AHA ACLS Provider certification is valid for two years. Many hospitals and employers require active ACLS certification at all times, so plan ahead and book your renewal class early.

### Do I need to bring anything to the ACLS renewal class?

Please bring your current or most recent AHA ACLS Provider eCard or physical card. This helps verify your eligibility for the renewal course. If you cannot locate your card, contact us before the class and we can help verify your certification status.

### Can you provide on-site ACLS renewal classes for our staff?

Yes. QKC Health provides on-site ACLS renewal classes at hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities throughout Connecticut for individuals or groups. We bring all equipment and can schedule sessions around your staff schedule. Contact us to arrange on-site ACLS renewal training.
